Just like the markets that are so popular in Europe, Downtown Cape Coral is preparing for the second season of The Downtown Street Market. On the First Saturday of each month — November through April — over 80 vendors will take to Vincennes Boulevard with booths and tables offering a wide array of items.
The market attracts thousands upon thousands of people to come and browse through beautiful antiques, original artwork, handcrafted gifts and upscale collectible pieces.
A wide variety of craftsmen and vendors are on hand each month. From garden décor to luxury home furnishings, from one-of-a-kind handbags, purses and jackets to antique crocks and old-fashioned quilts, from scented soaps, lotions and oils to handmade pottery, you will find something for everyone at the Downtown Street Market.
This year the 3 Ts Car Club will have vintage, stock and classic cars displayed and Tom’s Traveling Tunes will be playing your favorite music.
The Downtown Street Markets run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and admission is free. There is plenty of free parking in the surrounding City parking lots located in Big John Plaza, Iguana Mia and Club Square. The Downtown Street Market in only one block east of The Farmer’s Market

Christmas with the family

This Christmas we started the fun by going for a evening boat ride through out the canals in Cape Coral to see some Holiday decorations. There was a beautiful sunset and some very pretty decorations.
Then Christmas morning we had our traditional breakfast of Swedish Pancake and our home made Swedish Coffee Bread while we open our gifts.

Melissa and I than headed out for Captiva for some shelling. This was our third annual and we hope to keep this tradition up. There were some great shells this year. The best year yet. After shelling Melissa and I found some nice people that took our photo in front of the Christmas tree at the Mucky Duck. We than went for a bite to eat at the Key Lime Bistro in Captiva were we had some appetizers and I had a Key Lime Margarita which I loved and would love the recipe for if anyone out there has one and Melissa had a Captiva Passion. What a beautiful Christmas day in the Southwest Florida sunshine.

Cape Coral Christmas Boat Parade

Marty and I were invited to go on our friends boat for the Cape Coral Christmas boat parade. We have gone to see the parade in the past, but it was very different to be in the parade. The homes along the canal had chairs lined up on the lawns and had big parties to watch all the beautiful boats go by. It is said that over 125 boats participated. It was a great time. Here are some of my favorite photos.

The weekend in Cape Coral

On Saturday Marty and I both worked. But on Sunday we worked around the house, put up some holiday decorations and watched some football. Of course when it was time to watch football that meant it was also Corona Light time!! My Corona light was flavored by the first beautiful ripe lime from my Persian Lime Tree. Check out the photos of Pinky the Pink Flamingo with her Santa suit on, our Christmas Tree and my first lime.

The weekend in Cape Coral

This weekend we started with a surprise birthday party for our friend Merri. It was a very nice party and Merri was surprised. Sorry Merri, what happens in the Cape does NOT stay in the CAPE!!
