Great day today.....had a closing...showed 8 houses and received a call to list a property in Fort Myers. The person called me due to my new designation as a Certified Distressed Property Expert. Glad I took that class. Hopefully I will be able to help many struggling homeowners.

Scenes of Cape Coral, Florida

Cape Coral Florida is a waterfront community with over 400 miles of canals. Approx. 200 miles of the canals have access to the Gulf of Mexico. I have been living in Cape Coral for 4 years now and I still love it. There is always something fun to do here. Below is a picture of a canal with Cape Harbour in the background. On occasion we go to Cape Harbour to have lunch or dinner at one of the fine restaurants or to listen to a band outside at The Joint. I am looking forward to the opening of Marina Village at Tarpon Point. It should be opening in November. It will be a fun place to take family and friends visiting for the holidays.

Here is a photo of the new Resort at Marina Village in Tarpon Point. It will have a condo/hotel, shops, restaurants and the marina.

Today we went to the German American Club in Cape Coral for the Mango Mania Festival. There were mangoes everywhere. We had mango ice cream and sorbet, sampled mango salsa, and saw the largest mango that we have ever seen. It won first place in the mango contest.

A great day on the water again..... Today was a girls day out. We went to Lovers Key State Park to kayak. The water was smooth and the sun was shining. We saw dolphins as soon as we got out in the bay. In the third picture you will see the dolphin swimming very close to the pelican..I think they are after the same snack!!!! We also saw a spotted sting ray jump out of the water but it was much to fast to get a pic. After kayking for a few hours we stopped at the Lovers Key Resort for some lunch and a quick dip in their pool. What a great relaxing day!

Happy Fathers Day!!!!!

I hope all the dads out there had a terrific Fathers Day Weekend!!!!!

We went by boat on Saturday to Sanibel Island, the water was clear and warm.....and the colors were beautiful! We saw some Triple Tail swim by us while we were in the water. The first time they startled us but then we got use to them swimming by us. The beach was crowded most likely due to the fact that the area was experencing a heat advisory. The only comfortable place to be was the beach....

Today we went to our favorite restaurant in Matlacha... Moretti's There was a nice breeze coming from the water so we ate outside on the patio. The food was great as always!

Again Happy Fathers Day to all!!! I hope your day was special.

Trip to the East Coast of Florida

THIS PAST WEEKEND WE WENT ON A ROAD TRIP. FIRST WE WENT TO PORT ORANGE. WHAT A PRETTY TOWN. WE WENT TO A NICE WATERFRONT BAR NAME DJ'S DOCKSIDE. GREAT VIEWS AND GREAT FOOD. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT. WE STAYED OVER NIGHT AND THE NEXT DAY WE WENT TO THE DE PONCE LEON INLET LIGHTHOUSE. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE. WE DID NOT WALK TO THE TOP BUT HOPE TO IN THE FUTURE.

AFTER VISITING THE LIGHTHOUSE WE DROVE APPROX. 3 HOURS TO THE PLANTATION AREA TO VISIT SOME RELATIVES. MY HUSBANDS UNCLE WAS CELEBRATING HIS 90TH BIRTHDAY. IT WAS NICE SEEING THE MANTELL MEN TOGETHER. WE HAD A NICE DINNER AT VERDI'S ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN LAUDERHILL. THE WAITRESS SERENADED UNCLE SOL. SHE WAS A LOT OF FUN AND HAD ALL THE GUESTS SINGING.

I HOPE YOU ENJOY THE PICTURES.

Memorial Day at Fort Myers Beach

On Memorial Day Marty and I went to Fort Myers Beach by boat. The weather was great. While we were there we went to the top of the Lani Kai to see the great views. Here we are with our good friends Chic and Freddie. Below are some pictures of all the boats that were anchored out in the Gulf.

Our boat "The Stone Pony" closest to the beach.

The view of The Gulf of Mexico from the top of the Lani Kai. Many boats, many people and lots of sun.

More Kayaking on the Calusa Blueway

Heading out of the canal in Bokeelia. We kayaked for 4.5 hours and covered approx. 9 miles of the Calusa Blueway. We were against the wind the whole way. Needless to say it was a great workout.
My friends Doug and Yvonne Nixon at one of the many Calusa Blueway markers.

Looking towards Matlacha, we are almost there.

A day at the Beach

The Cape Coral Yacht club is where the city first started selling lots back in the early 60's. The Yacht club beach is always a great place to go and is always busy. You can fish on the pier, eat at KC's Riverstop or just enjoy the views.

We tried to anchor out in the Gulf at the Sanibel Inn but it was a little rough. So instead we went to Bowditch Point.

Bokeelia Ahead!!!

Life in Cape Coral always surprises me. On Sunday I went kayaking with some friends to complete some more miles of the Calusa Blueway. We had to pull our kayaks approx. 75 feet thru a narrow path to get to the launch. Here I am with Merri and Yvonne. After navigating through the mangroves approx. 1.5 miles we finally got to the Gasparilla Sound-Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserve. Once thru the mangroves we ran into a boat that was fishing. They told us that there were 3 horses walking out in the water on one of the flats. We rounded the corner and there were the 3 horses walking through the water. Never have I seen horses out in the middle of a body of water. Again.....only in Cape Coral!!!! Once we got through the mangroves we decided to head to Bokeelia Island. What a trip!!!
