Life in Cape Coral always surprises me. On Sunday I went kayaking with some friends to complete some more miles of the Calusa Blueway. We had to pull our kayaks approx. 75 feet thru a narrow path to get to the launch. Here I am with Merri and Yvonne. After navigating through the mangroves approx. 1.5 miles we finally got to the Gasparilla Sound-Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserve. Once thru the mangroves we ran into a boat that was fishing. They told us that there were 3 horses walking out in the water on one of the flats. We rounded the corner and there were the 3 horses walking through the water. Never have I seen horses out in the middle of a body of water. Again.....only in Cape Coral!!!! Once we got through the mangroves we decided to head to Bokeelia Island. What a trip!!!

Today was a beautiful day in Southwest Florida. I went kayaking today in Fort Myers Beach. I started at a little beach called Bunche Beach and went thru San Carlos Bay. There were some pretty sites while I was out there. I saw some dolphins, pelicans on the beach, and an osprey in it's nest.
The Lee County parks system has marked paddling trails. The trails are a part of the Great Calusa Blueway. You can access the site by going to... www.greatcalusablueway.com
My goal is to paddle all of the trails. There are 190 miles of trails. I paddled approx. 8 miles today. What a fun day. Happy Easter
