Cape Coral Turns 40!!!!

The City of Cape Coral will be celebrating 40 Years as a city on August 18th, 2010. Cape Coral has been known as a waterfront wonderland with over 400 miles of canals with many giving boaters access to the Caloosahatchee River and the Gulf of Mexico.  Cape Coral has continued to grow in the past 40 years. In 1960 the Cape only had a population of 280 people and now has a population of 150,000. The projection is for Cape Coral to have approx. 180,000 people by 2015.

Cape Coral will celebrate with fireworks and a parade at the annual Coconut Festival that will be held November 12 thru the 14th.

Cape Coral is a popular place for snowbirds to retire but also for families with children. There are good public schools as well as Charter schools here in Cape Coral.

Happy Birthday Cape Coral!!!!
